In times like these, making Music is even more important.

Updated: May 11, 2020

It’s day number $% of quarantine. (Yes sometimes even we loose track of the days.) We all are locked into our apartments, staring out the window and day dreaming about the day when things will get back to normal, when we won’t have to wear a mask to drop off the garbage, or when we can finally start hugging and visiting our friends and favorite places again.

However this isn’t the time to completely close ourselves off to learning and doing new things. In fact, now is the BEST time to learn something new, or find a new activity you can do with your children at home.

So many of us are worried about screen time, and the long term effects of the virtual life...but there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, and throughout history even in the hardest of times, we have always had music. Now, more than ever, music is an integral part of our lives. It was the philosopher Plato who said it best: “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.”

“Soul to the universe, flight to the imagination, and life to everything.” Those are powerful words, and for so many of us, they resonate even stronger today.

Knowing this, it’s no surprise that many articles have come out discussing the healing powers of music and why it’s so important. One of the stories that resonated with us the most here at Treble Time Music Studio, was the one that spoke of citizens in the villages of Italy, who were coming out onto their balconies and using Music as a way to connect to their neighbors and other members of the community.

We here at Treble Time Music Studio are passionate about keeping that connection going, and so we have officially moved all of our lessons and Music Together® classes online. Why not take some time out of your day to connect with one of our teachers 1 on 1? Or, come and join us for the semester, and meet the amazing families in our online Music Together® community.

Find some friends to make music with, or take the time to learn something for yourself.

-Stay healthy and safe friends!

*We invite you to to take some time to read this amazing article written by a professor at the university of Oxoford, which talks about why Music is so important for connection even now: https://phys.org/news/2020-03-covid-music-people-socially-virtually.html *
