Frequently Asked Questions
🎶 Music Together® Family Classes
Q: What is Music Together®?
A: Music Together is an internationally recognized early childhood music and movement program for children from birth through age 5—and the grownups who love them!® Our classes are playful, engaging, and research-based, helping support your child’s musical and overall development.
Q: Do I need any musical experience to join?
A: Not at all! Music Together is designed for everyone. Whether you’re a seasoned musician or think you can’t carry a tune, you’ll feel right at home.
Q: Can I bring more than one child?
A: Absolutely! Our classes are mixed-age and perfect for families with siblings. We even offer sibling discounts—just ask!
Q: What if my child doesn’t participate in class?
A: That’s totally okay. Children learn in different ways—some observe quietly while others jump right in. All forms of participation are valid and encouraged.
Q: What should I bring to class?
A: Just yourselves, comfy clothes for movement, and a willingness to have fun! We provide all instruments and materials during class.
Q: Why don’t you offer drop-in classes?
A: Music Together is a research-based program that builds over time. Children thrive on consistency and repetition, and a semester-based structure supports deeper learning, stronger musical growth, and a more connected classroom community. Drop-ins disrupt this process, so we stick to full or partial semester enrollments to give your child the best experience possible.
Q: What happens if we miss a class?
A: No problem! We understand that things come up. We offer makeup classes within the same session when space allows. Just contact us to schedule a makeup—you don’t lose your class!
🎹 Private Lessons
Q: What instruments do you teach?
A: We offer private lessons in piano, voice, and beginner ukulele. If you’re interested in something else, feel free to reach out and ask!
Q: What age do you start private lessons?
A: We typically start private lessons around age 4 or 5, depending on the child’s readiness and focus. Every child is unique, so we’re happy to assess and discuss.
Q: How long are lessons?
A: Lessons are typically available in 30-, 45-, or 60-minute sessions, depending on the student’s age, experience, and individual needs.
Q: Do you offer virtual lessons?
A: Yes! We offer both in-person and online private lessons to fit your family’s needs and schedule.
🎉 Birthday Parties
Q: What’s included in a music birthday party?
A: Our birthday parties include 30–45 minutes of live, interactive music tailored to your child’s age group. Singing, dancing, instruments, and tons of fun!
Q: What ages are your parties best for?
A: Our music parties are perfect for ages 1–6, but we can adjust for older kids too!
Q: Do you travel to party locations?
A: Yes! We can come to your home, park, or party venue. We just need a safe, comfortable space for music and movement.
Q: Can we request specific songs?
A: Definitely! We love customizing the experience to make your child’s day extra special.
